Ah... I now realise that I haven’t written a post in a long time! That’s not good, I keep telling myself, that’s not good at all. But the truth is that I really didn’t have time to sit down and focus on this blog, especially because of a ten-day trip to my hometown in Sardinia (if you follow me on Instagram, you already know that). Too bad!
Many things are going to happen in the next few months, so I’ll just post once a week, on Sunday.
Well... Let me tell you about today’s topic: my work schedule.
As you probably know, I like doing several things at once, and that’s because I get bored very easily. I always have at least three projects I work on at the same time. It goes without saying that, in order to do that, you need to organise your work, and that’s what I constantly do.
At the moment, this is my timetable:
Monday (Literature and Music)
From 08:30 to 09:00: Social! (That is, I read the news, I post on my social networks, I reply to emails and messages etc.)
From 09:00 to 10:15: Writing (short stories, poems, dialogues etc.)
From 10:15 to 11:30: Writing (Lyrics)
Then, the brea: I eat, I read and I take a nap!
From 3:30 to 04:00: Social! (Reprise)
From 04:00 to 07:45: Music Production (I write music, I record it, I make distribution plans etc. etc.)
From 07:45 to 08:30: Music Practice (so I spend some time with my instruments!)
And, then, I stop: I eat, I listen to music or watch a film and I go to bed.
08:30 - 09:00 Social (again)!
09:00 - 11:30 Writing (Lyrics)
03:30 - 04:00 Social! (Reprise, again)
04:00 - 07:45 Music Production
07:45 to 08:30: Music Practice
Wednesday (Literature and Cinema)
09:00 Writing (short stories, poems, dialogues etc.)
10:15 Writing (screenplays)
04:00 Film Production (I create plans, I draw storyboards and floor plans, I work on the budget of my projects etc.)
07:45 Music Practice
Thursday & Friday (Cinema)
09:00 Writing (screenplays)
04:00 Film Production
07:45 Music Practice
Afternoon/Evening Film Practice (I finally go out and shoot some videos with my camera: I’m creating a personal archive of pictures)
Afternoon/Evening ART JOURNAL (Why Sunday? Because I wouldn’t have much time during the rest of the week, of course!)
This is pretty much what I usually do during a regular week (things are very, very different if I’m recording in a studio or shooting something with a crew outside).
Now, I know this isn’t the most exciting post I’ve ever written, but I thought someone might be interested in the daily life of a full-time artist. After all, the most exciting and imaginative stories come exactly from this kind of dull routine!
Thanks for reading (and get ready because I’ll write about much more engaging stuff soon)!
